Harold BrileyOnce again, it is that time of year for the Daytona Beach Area Association to ask and encourage members to take an active role in their association by volunteering time and expertise to serve on board committees in 2021. Serving on a DBAAR Committee is much more than just sitting around a table, sharing coffee and a few ideas.

It is being involved in major policy discussions and decisions that shape the programs and services provided by your board. From Professional Development to Special Events, each and every committee, task force and work group plays a significant role in determining the priorities, policies and activities of the board.

In preparation for serving as President, I am asking and encouraging members to take an active role in their 		  board by volunteering to participate in board activities in 2021.

I hope each of you will take a moment to select a committee that interests you. Then, fill out the Committee Request Form below and submit it to the board. Every effort will be made to appoint you to the committee you request.

Please keep in mind those committees with a star (*) have limited appointments and, in some cases, experience requirements. Many times members say that each year they apply for a committee but are never selected. Upon questioning them further, we find that they only applied for the Professional Standards or Grievance Committees that have limited appointments. Believe me, members who complete the form will be called upon. Get involved in your board. It’s a great opportunity to be part of the governing process of our successful REALTOR® organization. Participating on a committee is a way to make your opinions heard.
